PestMonitor: Monitoring of arthropod pests – routine and innovation

Insect pest monitoring is an important pillar of integrated pest management, with the global goal of reducing reliance on synthetic insecticides and supporting the informed use and application of this pest management strategy when and where necessary. PestMonitor aims at

  1. providing sound and timely information to stakeholders,
  2. providing new insight into groups of elusive yet potentially important pests in Switzerland,
  3. develop predictive models to support practitioners’ decisions,
  4. developing new monitoring techniques.

The project will mainly focus on insect pests in arable crops (oilseed rape, peas, maize, sugar beet) and in vineyards.
