Stratégies de protection des plantes en viticulture

Viticulture is threatened by a number of fungal, viral and phytomplasma diseases, pests, and nutrient and water competition from cover crops. This project aims to advance integrated pest management (=IPM) strategies, which consider the whole vineyard system and potentially reduce pesticide use while maintaining a high crop quality. In defining integrated crop protection for viticulture, this project will test new plant protection strategies in a field environment in both the French and German-speaking regions of Switzerland as well as collecting essential information on disease carriers so that future protection strategies can be defined and optimal management practices can be achieved. The final goal of Integrated Crop Protection in Viticulture is to maintain close contact with practitioners so that Agroscope findings can be efficiently transferred and new priorities can be quickly assessed.
