The general aim of this project as part of an Innosuisse project is

1. the validation of an audio device to detect piglet sounds in commercial on-farm conditions using
2. to test whether nursing events can be detetced using this device.

The validation of the device will be conducted by calculating the agreement between video-based classification (i.e., video analysis is defined as the gold standard) with acoustic-based classification of the same behaviours. The same approach will be used for the second part with the overall objective to guide the technical developments towards usable services for future farmers.
