Swiss mountain farms provide a broad bundle of ecosystem services to society. However, the activity of these farms is declining, with mostly negative implications for the services they provide. Innovative technologies, such as precision farming, can reduce the workload in agriculture by making more efficient use of time, potentially increasing the farms' resilience. This presentation highlights the use of drones, virtual fences, AI, and livestock tracking technologies for improving the resilience of mountain farming in Switzerland.
