This dataset compiles plant species richness data from multiple grassland vegetation surveys conducted across Switzerland on varying plot areas (1–100 m²). It includes species richness on varying plot areas, plot-level environmental metadata and mean ecological indicator values. The data were assembled to evaluate how differences in plot areas affect estimates of species richness and mean ecological indicator values.
