EFFISERRE: Effizientes Management von Gewächshausressourcen für eine wettbewerbsfähige Produktion
The EFFISERRE project aims to support the resilience and sustainability of greenhouse vegetable production systems in the face of climate challenges and market pressures. Its focus is on analyzing and finding solutions to constraints caused by extreme climate events, including their impact on greenhouse climate management, plant variety resistance to abiotic stresses and viruses, the development of alternative fertilizers to reduce synthetic fertilizer use, and the reduction of greenhouse crop carbon footprints. This multidisciplinary project interacts with nine other projects and seven Calls within AP26-29, as well as six Agroscope research groups. Swiss greenhouse stakeholders were consulted to guide research priorities, and a network of producers across Switzerland participates in the trials. Additionally, collaborations have been established with three applied research centers in Europe, and the research group actively participates in the European Vegetables Research Institutes Network (EUVRIN). Dissemination of results to the Swiss professional greenhouse sector remains a key priority.
