ADAPT: Forschungsplattform für dynamische Agrarökosysteme
Agricultural production faces major challenges: limited arable land, climate change, biodiversity loss, degraded soils, and overuse of non-renewable resources. Addressing these requires innovative strategies beyond current systems to ensure food security with minimal inputs and environmental impact, while enhancing resilience and ecosystem services. This project aims to establish a long-term, multidisciplinary research platform for agroecological arable cropping systems. Key goals include:
- operating systemic experimental sites with research partners;
- creating a living lab for participatory on-farm research and knowledge exchange;
- involving extension services to support agroecological transition.
Monitoring will cover crop performance, soil quality, biodiversity, and environmental impact using diverse tools. The platform will support field experiments, model development, and indicator validation. Solutions will be co-created with farmers, adapted locally, and ready for scaling.
