My research interests focus on the spatial and temporal patterns of biodiversity in agricultural landscapes and the ecological processes that shape these patterns. The following questions are central to my work: How does biodiversity change in agricultural landscapes across different spatial and temporal scales? What role do biotic interactions and environmental and land use factors play in these changes? And how can such dynamics be reliably recorded and evaluated?
I work as a research associate in the Agricultural Landscape and Biodiversity research group at Agroscope and head the national biodiversity monitoring program in the agricultural landscape, ALL-EMA. ALL-EMA provides a central database for assessing the status and development of biodiversity in the Swiss agricultural landscape and supports evidence-based decisions in research, policy, and practice.
