VitisAdaption: Adaptating plant material and cultivation techniques to climate change

The project VitisAdaptation aime to test and propose a sustainable soil management using low-competitive cover crops (low growth), limiting inputs (fertilizer, herbicides, irrigation) and preserving natural resources (water, minerals, organic matter). The project also addresses fertilization management and optimization of nitrogen management, a key factor in grape quality, particularly to prevent deficiencies that affect fermentation and wine composition. Proposing irrigation strategies based on physiological indicators applicable to the vineyard also remains a priority objective. Propose rootstocks that are resistant to drought, sufficiently vigorous to withstand competition from grassing over of the vines, and that assimilate minerals optimally. Characterize the key factors of the terroir that are decisive for the choice of grape varieties in the vineyard in view of climate change.
