Sources et puits de CO2 dans les sols agricoles

L’exploitation des sols modifie les apports et les cycles, ce qui fait varier les réserves de carbone; par conséquent, les sols sont soit des sources, soit des puits de CO2. Ce projet vise à renforcer la fonction de puits des sols agricoles, de limiter les sources, de quantifier les variations et de proposer des mesures appropriées pour améliorer le bilan en CO2 de l’exploitation des sols. D’autres fonctions écosystémiques doivent également être améliorées en parallèle.

Le bilan de carbone des sols agricoles de la Suisse est présenté pour la première fois de manière détaillée pour l’inventaire des gaz à effet de serre. Des mesures d’exploitation spéciales comme l’emploi de charbon végétal pour réduire les émissions ou s’adatper au changement climatique sont également étudiées afin de connaître leur effet sur le bilan en carbone des sols.
