FACTS4CHOICE: Comment les informations sur la sécurité alimentaire influencent le comportement des consommatrices et consommateurs

Global shocks such the war in Ukraine have put food self-sufficiency back on the political agenda of countries that are heavily dependent on food imports. Food self-sufficiency is primarily concerned with the availability pillar of food security and focuses on the domestic capacity to produce it in sufficient quantities. In Switzerland, the agricultural policy in the form of direct payments and the trade policy through high tariffs and non-tariff measures enable domestic agricultural production. However, food self-sufficiency comes at a high cost to Swiss citizens. Against this background, empirical evidence on the effect of information about policies that promote the public good food self-sufficiency on consumer food choice is highly relevant.
