Amélioration de la résistance aux conditions climatiques imprévisibles en termes de précipitations et de températures

Swiss agriculture is increasingly challenged by unpredictable rainfall and frequent summer droughts, which threaten both crop yields and quality. The CALOR project—a 48-month initiative supported by Agroscope and FOAG—aims to boost crop adaptation and resilience in the face of these climate challenges. CALOR focuses on improving farmers’ access to resilient crop varieties, climate-adapted management practices, and efficient deficit irrigation strategies.
The project’s specific goals are to:

  1. Identify combinations of climatic events that affect crop performance,
  2. Evaluate field methods for assessing crop stress tolerance,
  3. Generate essential data and strategies for deficit irrigation management, and
  4. Design future experimental networks.

Ultimately, CALOR will deliver practical solutions to promote sustainable water use and strengthen climate resilience in Swiss agriculture.
