Attuazione spaziale di Visione 2050: potenziale climatico e agroecologico per un'agricoltura adeguata alle condizioni locali

The Swiss Agricultural Vision 2050 is ambitious, as are the projected future climate and local impacts on agricultural production. However, the question remains as to how agriculture can best adapt to these conditions. In addition to the (large-scale) climatic conditions in Switzerland, site adaptation is also influenced by local or smaller factors (i.e. agroecological practices) influencing microclimate, water availability, soil retention and biodiversity. The interplay of these factors helps to determine resilience and thus influences long-term agricultural productivity.
We ask: What will the agricultural system in Switzerland look like in 2050 if land is used in a side-adapted way? Can food sovereignty, nutrition and the sustainable management of resources and biodiversity be achieved? What recommendations could be made to farmers and decision-makers to pave the way for Vision 2050?
With the overall aim of making Vision 2050 a reality, we will provide an online toolkit consisting of maps showing local adaptation potential, practical recommendations, and policy briefs.
