The pedosphere evolves slowly under diverse physio-geographical and socio-economic influences, making the analysis of soil changes complex. Several Swiss monitoring programs (e.g., NABO, BDM topsoil grid sampling, PEP soil analyses, MAUS, ALL-EMA) provide valuable data, but they are often analyzed separately, limiting cross-sectoral insights. Integrating these datasets will enable more accurate assessments of soil health, nutrient dynamics, and their impacts on biodiversity and agricultural productivity. This project aims to extend the Geochemical Soil Atlas, enhance the quality and usability of PEP soil data, identify key drivers of soil phosphorus variability and farmland biodiversity, and link direct and indirect indicators for environmental monitoring. By combining soil, environmental, and management data, it will improve understanding of soil status and trends, support the identification of sustainability measures, and inform agricultural and environmental policy decisions in Switzerland.
